Superintendent's Corner: August 2025

Superintendent's Corner

August 2025

On Tuesday, August 26th, our schools will welcome students and staff for the 2025-2026 school year!

Each new school year brings with it a fresh start — an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to connect. Our staff has been working diligently to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

This year, we are especially focused on nurturing the whole child. In addition to academic excellence, we are placing a strong emphasis on self-care and confidence-building. We believe that when students feel good about themselves and are equipped with tools to manage stress and emotions, they are better prepared to take on challenges and achieve their goals. Through classroom practices, school-wide initiatives, and family partnerships, we will be encouraging students to:

  • Set personal goals and celebrate progress
  • Prioritize their well-being and mental health
  • Speak up with confidence and kindness
  • Support one another in building a strong, respectful community

We are proud to be part of a school district with a longstanding tradition of excellence. For generations, our schools have served the community — places where students are not only educated but also empowered to lead, create, and contribute. As we honor that legacy, we are equally focused on the future. With innovative programs, dedicated educators, and a shared vision for success, we are building a future that is bright, bold, and full of opportunity for every learner.

As part of our commitment to literacy and student success, we are excited to launch a new reading program for students in grades K-8 this school year. This initiative is designed to strengthen foundational reading skills, foster a love of learning, and support every child’s growth as a confident reader and writer. Thanks to the thoughtful planning and preparation completed last year, our schools are ready to implement this program with care and collaboration, ensuring a smooth transition for students, families, and staff alike.

We are also excited to share that our school construction projects that are well underway at Indian Crest Middle School, Salford Hills Elementary School, and West Broad Street Elementary School.  These projects are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, modern, and welcoming spaces for our students and staff. From upgraded security systems and refreshed classrooms to improved accessibility features and outdoor learning areas, these enhancements are designed to support both safety and innovation in our learning environment. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to invest in the future of our school district.

We are committed to making this a year of meaningful growth and joyful learning.

Sincerely,

Frank T. Gallagher, Ed.D.
