English Language Development (ELD)

The English Language Development (ELD) program, formerly known as ESL (English as a Second Language) is to develop the English language proficiency of English Learners (ELs) in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. This instruction is a component of the general curriculum and is designed to develop the English language skills necessary to communicate information, ideas and concepts for content areas. The ELD program facilitates the development and attainment of English proficiency and academic achievement of students whose native or first language is not English.

See below for more information about the ELD program in Souderton Area School District.
