About Vernfield > Town Meetings

Town meetings are monthly gatherings for the students of Vernfield Elementary School. Each grade level gathers together in the auditorium and signs our school song led by Miss Knorr our music specialist. During the meeting a teacher will share examples of positive character traits. Each grade level participates by taking turns showcasing some of their school work. Different grade levels perform each month. Blue slips are awarded to students who exhibit exceptional behavior. The students are placed in a monthly drawing and rewarded during our meeting. Power Readers are also awarded at our town meetings. We sing happy birthday to one another and recognize the children who are celebrating their birthday. It is a time to build relationships within our school community.
